Ribbank Sideboard from Flanders or the Netherlands, 17th Century
An essential piece of furniture in Flanders and the northern countries, the ribbank comes in the form of a sideboard most often opening with two doors under which two drawers form the belt of the furniture. Their decoration is inspired, as for the one that we present, of the forms of the Renaissance: falls of fruits and flowers, bows of ribbon and masks on strongly molded panels and crowned with imposing cornices. Resting on four stained black wooden ball feet, this ribbank is in excellent condition.
