Pair of Decorative Bronzes, 19th Century

Are they the allegory of sowing and harvesting? These two small patinated bronze putti, seated on gilded bronze bases, each carry an instrument necessary for agriculture. One holds a sickle, the other a grain bowl. The two together embody one of the oldest human activities since we settled down. A poetic ode to this nurturing work.
