Chest of Drawers attributable to Thomas Hache, Late 17th Century

The rarity of furniture attributed to Thomas Hache is well known and this chest of drawers, attributable to the hand of this master cabinetmaker from Grenoble, is therefore an exceptional piece.

In perfect condition, this chest of drawers has a marquetry pattern marked by the taste of the Dauphiné and local wood species with its top composed of large panels of fruit tree burls left natural or tinted. One can recognize the delicate interlacing and the coloured palette of Hache which give rhythm to three rows in the front, the first of which is separated in the middle by a frame and contains two drawers. There are a total of four drawers.

The gilded bronze escutcheons and handles emphasize the elegant symmetry of the Louis XIV style.
