Butcher’s Table Napoleon III, 19th Century
A sought-after rarity when they are, like ours, authentic, the butcher’s tables in marble and wrought iron regularly bear the patina of their use on the top. Their not too bulky size made it easy to include them in a shop while their resistant materials ensured them a serious solidity. Finally, these tables responded to new hygienic concerns, which became more and more widespread from the second half of the 19th century. Thus, marble and wrought iron were not afraid of being washed with plenty of water and offered smooth surfaces without gaps, unlike wood.
With its aesthetic characteristic of the Napoleon III style (white marble top, wrought iron festoons, roll-up base and gilded decorative elements) and its small size, our butcher’s table in perfect condition will easily find a new use in the house.
