Stone Urn or Vase, Late 18th Century

The shape of the firepot, of military origin, is a classic of European architecture. Revamped at the beginning of the French Renaissance, the latter makes the pot a vase and the flame a flower, an artichoke or a pine cone. The element punctuates the French gardens and enlivens the paths or stairs. The one we offer is in stone and consists of several elements, all in very good condition and dating from the end of the 18th century.
The heavy garlands of fruit as well as the pendants of acanthus leaves do not fail to embody the first loves of the Louis XVI style, while the classic shape bears the memory of the nascent taste for neoclassicism.
