View of the Port of Cassis, Oil on Canvas, 20th Century

In a peaceful cove, one could almost fail to recognize Cassis. However, its lighthouse, on the right, is under construction and indicates that the painting was painted in the first half of the 20th century. Sailing boats sail peacefully while in the foreground, men are busy. Is it a question of unloading packaged goods or selecting blocks of stone that will be used to complete the construction of the lighthouse?

Alas, the building barely completed will be damaged in 1944 and everything will have to be started again…

Our small painting, in perfect condition, is a precious souvenir of the history of the port of Cassis.
