Small Half-Moon Chest of Drawers. Louis XVI style, 19th Century
This lovely little chest of drawers has all the charm of the Louis XVI style but dates from the 19th century. However, one admires its neat marquetry offering an allegory of music and its beautiful white marble veined with a very elegant bluish black. The ram-headed gilt bronze corner are a reminder of the Queen’s dairy in Rambouillet and the pull handles and locks are nicely chiseled in the neoclassical style. The whole is in very good condition.
