Regency Period Walnut Wardrobe, 18th Century
Tall and of a reasonable width, this slender armoire still retains the liveliness of Louis XIV ornamentation, well framed by the rigor of its lines, typical of the Regency period. Its molded cornice with rounded corners crowns a top rail decorated in the center with a shell between two molded fretwork panels.
Each panel consists of three molded panels, punctuated by four keyholes with beautifully crafted hardware. Finally, the flowing apron rests on feet with scrolled acanthus leaves.
