Porcelain Coffee Service. Capodimonte, Naples, 19th Century
This porcelain service in perfect condition pays homage to the imperial brother-in-law of the King of Naples under the Napoleonic Empire, Napoleon I and his wife Joséphine de Beauharnais. In 1800, Joachim Murat married Caroline Bonaparte, one of Napoleon’s sisters, and eight years later became King of Naples. Thus integrated into the family, he participated in the establishment of the Bonapartes in Europe, as evidenced by this coffee service composed of 10 cups and saucers, a sugar bowl and a jug, all in porcelain.
