Pair of Louis XIV Style Candlestick Sconces, 19th Century
In a lively style, full of 17th century baroque, this pair of sconces with candlesticks presents a embossed brass decoration. In each frame surrounded by interlacing, Cupids in clouds carry garlands of flowers. When, just below, the five candles installed in the binets are lit, the dancing glow of the flames brings the reliefs to life and it seems as if the little Cupids are truly coming to life. Above and below, two masks complete this set in very good condition.
