Pair of Black Marble and Malachite Obelisks, 19th Century
Essential for the most refined interiors, the pair of marble obelisks was a necessity at the turn of the 19th century. Arranged on fireplaces, desks or consoles, obelisks bring back to life at home the grandeur of Greek and Roman antiquity which we then enjoy rediscovering thanks to the neoclassical movement. These two obelisks in black marble from Belgium highlighted with threads of Russian malachite are in very good condition. Note a small loss in one of the pedestals.
