Two caryatids, which are reminiscent of those of the Erechtheion, each carry a nicely chiseled binet. These Barbedienne bronze editions are the elegant souvenir of the new taste for archaeological discoveries which animates bourgeois circles, as it had animated that of the aristocracy in the previous circle.
