Pair of Aubusson Greenery « Verdure » Style Tapestries, 20th Century
Back to basics or homage to what made the success of the Aubusson and Felletin factories, this pair of tapestries takes up the theme of Aubusson greenery in a style borrowed from a form of stylization and modernity. This hanging made in the 20th century presents two thick trees in which birds are hiding. At the foot of the tree, a rich bed of flowers and plants fills the lower space. The more classic border forms a frame of interlacing blue and red flowers. Each tapestry is doubled and the whole has no stains or lacks.
