Oriental Corner Cabinet, 19th Century
This lovely, delicate piece of furniture is entirely crafted with openwork, turned wood carvings, and bas-relief motifs. Employing a rich vocabulary of interlacing patterns, beads, and columns, this corner cabinet resembles a mashrabiya and features four levels of storage, including a central compartment closed by a curved, openwork door. Small oriental stars inlaid with bone punctuate the surface of this warm and solid wood. This corner cabinet from the Orient is in very good condition.
