Oil on Canvas “The Violinist”, 19th Century
In line with the realistic painters of the 19th century, this portrait of a violinist does not spare the model, represented in the reality of his daily life. With dirty hands and nails, clothes starched with dust and a weathered face, this violinist pays the price for his profession to which he devotes himself body and soul, as evidenced by the freshly written scores and, perhaps, addressed to Maria (or is it the signature of the painter?). Our oil on canvas of a good size and a beautiful paste is in perfect condition.
