Neoclassical Récamier, 19th Century
Resting in the middle of the day must be done with elegance and this is something that the Empire style has perfectly understood. Heir to the Duchess, the Récamier allows one to rest without lying down, an early lounge chair, reserved for the elegant. Ours, in neoclassical style, is in mahogany and has charming swan-neck uprights and molded bands. The connecting dice above the spinning top feet are decorated with flowers. Seat and back are upholstered in a pretty striped fabric and the whole thing is in very good condition.
