Louis XV style Caneworked Armchair, with Semicircular Backrest, 19th Century
This elegant office armchair has all the characteristics of a Louis XV style calmed down in the second half of the 19th century, when historicism update the most famous creations of previous centuries. This armchair with a double caneworked backrest is a perfect example with its whiplash uprights, its beautifully molded belt decorated with flowers on the top of thin, slightly curved legs. The canework of the backrest has been slightly damaged (see the photographs) but these small accidents do not detract from the charm of this beautiful armchair, which has a nice patina and can be used as is.
