Restoration-period console and mirror, 19th century
On the mahogany console table inlaid with light wood fillets, the revivals of the Empire style, as well as memories of the Return from Egypt, firmly establish the piece without weighing it down. The slightly concave apron opens to a drawer with a key. A mirror behind the crossbar adds depth and creates a continuity with the large mirror that the console table supports. Simply framed and secured between two Egyptian-style columns inlaid with spiral fillets, the beautifully proportioned mirror is suitable for a reception room. The set, in perfect condition, will require specialized transport or delivery by us.
