Empire Period Stand, Early 19th Century
High and refined, elegant and discreet, this stand in excellent condition embodies all the majesty of the early Empire style still steeped in the Directoire style. The astonishingly modern lines require nothing more than discreet ornaments but in noble materials, with refined hues. The sea-green marble top is only enhanced by the contrast of the fluted columns and the blackened wooden spacer. Rhythming the height, the gilded bronze elements (palmettes and rings forming the capital and base) catch the light and the eye.
