Dancing Faun in Bronze, 19th Century

An emblematic sculpture adorning the atrium pool of the Pompeian villa of the same name, the Dancing Faun was, from its discovery, a motif which was a great success. The excavations of Pompeii aroused the greatest interest at the time and this sculpture seemed to carry within it all the Roman art of living. Our small bronze with green patina faithfully reproduces the features and pose of this faun clearly happy with his condition. This sculpture after the Dancing Faun of Pompeii is in very good condition.
