Busts of Nicolas Fouquet and Cardinal Mazarin, 18th Century

These two characters who are counterparts are two famous contemporaries of the beginning of the reign of Louis XIV. Nicolas Fouquet, superintendent of finances – and whose tragic fate everyone knows – and, probably, Cardinal de Mazarin, the young Fouquet’s longtime protector. The cardinal will hoist Fouquet to the closest king’s council. These two bronze busts and their pedestals are in very good condition.
