Bargueno Cabinet, Portugal, late 18th century

Made of a warm and silky rosewood, this bargueno cabinet has nine drawers with a dovetail arrangement.

Dated from the end of the 18th century, this Portuguese piece of furniture is enriched with elements and keyholes with elegant shapes of interlacing and rosettes openwork in a nicely patinated gilded bronze. The effect is all the more successful as this cabinet is accompanied by a beautiful movement in its turned wooden base.

This beautiful piece of furniture, despite its great age, has surprisingly modern lines.
