Large Japanese Porcelain Vases, Late 19th Century

Baluster in shape and with a flared corolla-shaped neck, these two large glossy porcelain vases are decorated on the body with two cartouches, one depicting a gallant scene, the other two armed riders. Each scene stands out against an orange background decorated with stylized motifs including ruyi. Both vases are in very good condition. The sculpture is in very good condition.
