Art Deco Trinket Tray, 20th Century

We know how fond the Art Deco movement was of animal art. And even in its smallest creations, animal sculpture often appears with delicacy and playfulness. Here, a small bronze mouse, with stylized features, stands on a marble trinket tray and seems to taunt the inhabitant. This mouse, who prowls everywhere, without being caught by the cat, now settles down, as if nothing had happened, on the desk or the hall console!
