Lombard furniture, early 18th century
Made of olive wood, this curiously animated piece of furniture dates from the early 18th century. Refined cabinet in its upper part with its architectural arches with Venetian accents and its small drawers, secretary in its middle part with its wide but narrow drawers and storage for placing letters, envelopes, paper and writing equipment, it is finally a chest-of-drawers (comodine) in the lower part. Two chubby drawers with gilded bronze pull handles reveal two comfortable storage spaces lined with Baroque wallpaper.
