After Amedeo Gennarelli (1881–1943), white-painted terracotta sculpture, Art Deco period.
Likely created by the artist himself, this sculpture is a painted terracotta version of the model Extase (Ecstasy), originally produced by Amedeo Gennarelli in marble and bronze. Born in Naples, Italy, he emigrated to France in 1909 and began exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1913, continuing to show his work there regularly until 1936. Renowned for his female nudes and his sculptural mastery of the Art Deco aesthetic, Amedeo Gennarelli was a low-profile yet highly regarded artist. This terracotta edition is in perfect condition.
