Entitled &#8220;Djinn Arab Stallion&#8221;, this sculpture is the work of Parisian Pierre-Jules M\u00e8ne, one of the most famous representatives of French animal sculpture in the 19th century. Like many of his companions, M\u00e8ne observes the animals attentively as soon as he has the opportunity and spends so a lot of time in the Jardin des Plantes. Like Barye, he created his own foundry in 1838 and retained its management until 1877. The workshop became a popular place for artists and writers, very popular and appreciated by big names such as Alexandre Dumas. Pierre-Jules M\u00e8ne was then considered one of the best lost wax casting practitioners of his time.
