Their not too bulky size made it easy to include them in a shop while their resistant materials ensured them a serious solidity. Finally, these tables responded to new hygienic concerns, which became more and more widespread from the second half of the 19th century. Thus, marble and wrought iron were not afraid of being washed with plenty of water and offered smooth surfaces without gaps, unlike wood.<\/p>\n
