Large Vase Lamp with Mermaids, 19th Century<\/p>\n

From a beautiful vase adorned with garlands and upon whose shoulder two mermaids sit, a lovely bouquet of flowers and leaves in gilt bronze is illuminated by a delicate light, reminiscent of antique candles. The whole rests on an ornate pedestal and base, drawing inspiration from various classical styles, from the Renaissance to Louis XVI. Clearly, we are in the second half of the 19th century, a period so fond of historicism. This substantial gilt bronze lamp is in perfect condition. <\/p>\n
