He was in Brussels from 1825 to 1830 and had some success with the court before returning to France. Not meeting with the expected success in Paris, he decided to settle in Spain with his family, establishing his residence of in Barcelona.<br \/>\nHis first known miniatures, painted on ivory, date from 1826 and he announced himself in April 1841 in the Barcelona newspaper El Constitucional as a miniature portrait painter.<br \/>\nOur miniature was probably painted on the road that leads Lorichon from Paris to Barcelona.
